Nagpur based Orange City Hospital & Research Institute; owned by Ravi Nair Hospitals Private Limited is always at the forefront of extending health care services to the local communities in and around its area as a part of its community development initiatives. In continuation to series of various social community initiatives to commemorate its completion of 25 years of public service, recently OCHRI under aegis of Rotary Club of Nagpur Green City organized a health talk on “Physical Problems & Physiotherapy remedies for middle age People” and General Health Checkup Camp for the family members of club at Institute of Engineers Hall, Nagpur.

Dr. Hemant Waghmare-Physician, Dr. Ankush Mohbey- Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Noorul Ameen- Family Physician, Dr. Atul Dekate- Physiotherapist and Dr. Honey Khandelwal rendered their expert services while Sr. Prashika Dive and Sr. Rina Mahiskar assisted them. Free Blood sugar estimation and BP checkup was also done in this camp. Shri. Anil Dhakate coordinated the camp successfully.

In his lecture Dr. Atul Dekate- Physiotherapist stated that a substantial loss of muscle mass and strength (sarcopenia), a decreased regenerative capacity, and a compromised physical performance are hallmarks of aging skeletal muscle. A challenge in the field of muscle aging is to dissociate the effects of chronological aging per se on muscle characteristics from the secondary influence of lifestyle and disease processes. Remarkably, physical activity and exercise are well-established countermeasures against muscle aging, and have been shown to attenuate age-related decreases in muscle mass, strength, regenerative capacity and slow or prevent impairments in muscle metabolism.

Dr. Sharda Roshankhede- President, Rotary Club of Nagpur Green City thanked OCHRI management for proactively organizing medical camp for club family members and TEAM of Doctors for their expert services.  Rtn.Jaydeep Das- Secretary, Rtn. Ulhas Athale- Treasurer, Rtn. Lekhram Patel- President Elect, Rtn. Akshay Bhatkulkar- Secretary Elect, Dr. Prashant Nikhade- Past President, Rtn. Padma Dethe- Director, Rtn. Netra Deshpande and large number of members were prominently present.
