Valuing Nurses as the heart of health care, Nagpur based Orange City Hospital & Research Institute owned by Ravi Nair Hospitals Private Limited celebrates International Nurses Day with great vigor every year. Due to Covid times, the celebrations were not undertaken since last 2 years. Hence in 2022, with the theme of Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health, OCHRI Nurses commemorated the birthday of the founder of modern nursing Sr. Florence Nightingale in a big way. Internationally acclaimed Poetess & Writer Smt.Saroj Vyas was the Chief Guest and Smt.Vilasini Nair, President, Nagpur Mahila Club was the Guest of Honour for this novel event.
The program was conducted by Sr. Rahel Patrange & Sr. Lata Kakde as Sr. Jessy Abraham-OCHRI Nursing Incharge welcomed the Dignitaries and rendered welcome speech after the traditional lamp Lighting and welcome song rendition by all OCHRI WSS. Soon after the ritualistic Pledge Ceremony led by Sr. Jessy Abraham; a Cake sponsored by Dr. Ram Khare was cut by all dignitaries in presence of all senior nursing staff. A Fashion Show by OCHRI Nursing staff was followed by address of Smt.Vilasini Nair who stated that nurse plays a multi-faceted role in health care delivery. She added that with growing patient expectations and needs, the role of a nurse is also evolving.
A Group Dance by Sr. Pragati & Team was followed by speech of Smt.Saroj Vyas who commended the selfless, dedicated priceless service of nurses to society. She stated that Nurses are also Manager, Counselor, Advocate, Detective and Educator in health care delivery system.
Solo Dance by Sr. Rina Mhaiskar was followed by a Skit by Sr. Lata Kakde & Team and Poem Recitation by Sr. Shital Chandekar. After the Solo dance performances of Sr. Trishna Gaikwad, Sr. Darshana Madankar & Sr. Pratiksha Gote; Dr. Usha Nair- RNHPL Managing Director rendered the presidential speech wherein she enumerated the vital role of nurses in transforming health care and complimented the zeal, enthusiasm and spirit of OCHRI nurses in tackling all adversities.
After a Group Dance by Ms. Prachi Madke & team; Sr. Febamol KG proposed vote of thanks while Sr. Kavita Godphode & Team concluded the program by leading the audience in singing National anthem.
Dr. Vidya Nair- RNHPL Vice- Chairperson declared Sr. Ashwini Uike as Best Nurse 2022. She conveyed that proactive-ness, dedication and sincerity over and above the routine duties were the benchmarks that led to her selection. Smt.Priya Sashi, Shri.Prashant Tichkule, Shri.Madhukar Chanore, Smt.Bharti Badwaik & Shri.Avinash Ganar worked hard for the success of this event
