OCHRI’s 3-day Health Camp at EVF’s TTP

The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation (literally Foundation of Solo Schools) is a non-profit organization involved in education and village development in rural areas and tribal villages of India. It is the largest grassroots, non-government education initiative in India with presence in more than 50,000 villages providing free education to more than one million children. The foundation’s model of operation is single-teacher schools, with the premise of “Ek Shikshak, Ek Vidyalaya” meaning “one teacher for every school.” The individual schools, known as Ekal Vidyalayas, have local teachers who teach in the regional language using various modes like story-telling, folk dramas, and folk songs. The schools also impart moral education, health care education and organic farming techniques.

Recently, Late Laxmanrao Mankar Smurti Sanstha, Nagpur had organized a 3 days training program (TTP) for the teacher’s/Invigilators staff of Eklavya Ekal Vidyalayas at Smurti Bhavan, Reshimbag, Nagpur from 10th to 13th August, 2017.

Orange City Hospital & Research Institute provided their Medical Health Care Services to the participants. Dr. Navin Zade, Medical Officer along with Sr. Reena Mhaiskar rendered their services during the training period. Free Medicines was also provided to the patients by OCHRI during the camp. An Ambulance was also made available at the site. OCHRI has been providing this social activity for Ekal Vidyalayas since long.

Shri. Rajiv Hadap, Secretary-Late Laxmanrao Mankar Smurti Sanstha conveyed thanks on the behalf of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation to the management of OCHRI for always providing medical Services to undertakings of Ekal Vidyalayas and commended the readiness of OCHRI to undertake social activities to benefit mankind with missionary zeal.
