Orange City Hospital & Research Institute added one more feather in its cap’s by becoming the official medical service provider for the recently concluded PEDICON 2018. Orange City Hospital & Research Institute’s medical & Ambulance services was sought by IAP- Nagpur for providing emergency medical and other related health care services for 55th National Conference of Indian Academy of Pediatrics from 4th to 7th January held at Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Reshimbag Ground, Nagpur; in which more than 8 Thousand delegates from all over India and abroad participated.
In this mega conference, Medical emergency cell consisting of Dr. Anup Marar & Dr. Ashish Vaidya who were nominated by Dr. Vasant Khalatkar and Dr. Jayant Upadhyay had conceptualized the idea of setting onsite Emergency room equipped with Fowlers bed, monitor, Ventilator, Defibrillator and other paraphernalia apart from Cardiac Ambulance along with Team of Intensivist, Medical Officers and Paramedical staff. On site emergency medical center was capable of handling all types of medical emergency at the venue. OCHRI’s ambulance along with medical team also escorted the Walkathon on 6th January from 6 am to 8 am and even provided backup of medical services on the spot at banquet areas. Many delegates and supporting staff were benefitted by this timely onsite medical help.

Dr. Jayant Upadhyay, Chief Organizing Secretary, PEDICON 2018, visited the medical unit and applauded the efforts of OCHRI management for this unique onsite medical facility apart from 24×7 emergency medical backup for the conference. Dr. Vasant Khalatkar- Organizing Chairman, Dr. Jafri-Disaster cell Incharge and Dr. Pravin Pagey-Organizing Secretary, PEDICON 2018 thanked OCHRI for providing excellent on-time medical facilities to needy delegates at conference. Provision of blood sugar estimation, BP check, ECG and medicine dispensing were some of the additional proactive endeavors.
Dr. Noorul Ameen- Medical Coordinator, Dr. Shivam Puniyani- Intensivist, Dr. Ajay Mungale and Dr. Pooja Rathod- Medical Officers rendered their expert services. Br. Prateek Sonekar, Abhay Khadse and Shri. Rashid Badar supported the medical team in this endeavor.
