OCHRI Public talk on “Yoga and its myths” on 21st June

Everyone should spend some Me Time! – Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga Exponent Meera

Orange City Hospital & Research Institute; the family hospital of Central India advocates holistic medicine. To commemorate International Yoga day; OCHRI is organizing a public talk on “Yoga and its myths” by Acclaimed Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga Exponent Meera.

The undertaking is being organized by Dr.Vidya Nair, Director (Operations) – Ravi Nair Hospitals Private Limited. Dr.Vidya who herself religiously practices Yoga stated that Yoga is not only exercise and asanas. It is a science and a way of living which should be practiced by every human being. But one should learn this way of living from a trained Yoga exponent otherwise one can have serious repercussions on not only your body but mind and soul. To clear misconceptions about Yoga; this public talk has been arranged which will be followed by an interactive session.

Yoga Exponent Meera strongly believes incorporating yoga philosophy with asana practice helps in holistic growth- Mental, Physical and emotional balance specially in today’s world where everything is so fast paced that even the food we eat is injected to grow it faster. Gyms and other activities bring physical fitness but not mental peace this is where Yoga differs as it brings a balance- Mind-Body-Soul, Strength-Flexibility. Yoga practitioners can easily lift weights, Run, swim, dance but gym goers, runners, cross fit practioneers are not flexible enough to practice yoga, this shows they lack holistic balance in body- it’s not only about muscle strength and cardio but also breathing in more oxygen so that your organs are healthier. Right now is the time for a revolution to pay more attention to our holistic growth and spend some time to take care of yourself.

The public talk of Yoga Gurvi Meera is scheduled in Jaivik Sabhagruha, Ground floor, OCHRI on Wednesday 21st June 2017 at 1pm. All interested citizens of Nagpur can attend this short and crisp talk. Dr.Noorul Ameen is Coordinator of this endeavor while Shri.Avinash Ganar, Smt.Saramma Samuel and Smt.Bharti Badwaik are the Conveners. Smt.Priya Sashi, Dr.Madhuri Likhitkar, Smt.Mansi Andhare, Dr.Kavita Dhurve, Smt.Sunita Patil, Shri.Santosh Mykalwar, Shri.Ganesh Iyer and Smt.Sangeeta Varma are working hard for the success of this mission.
