OCHRI Installs latest Fujinon Adult Video Bronchoscope

Recently, State of art Latest Adult Fujinon Video Bronchoscope has been procured in OCHRI Department of Respiratory Medicine. The state of the art Fujinon Adult Bronchoscope for maximum image quality & flexibility is equipped for the broadest range of therapeutic applications with a wide working channel of 2.8 mm and a narrow external diameter. Its biopsy channel and strong suction facilitate even the most difficult procedures. Some of the features are optimal design for quick and easy insertion, improved suction and compatible with many accessories.

On this occasion Dr. Ashish Shukla- OCHRI full time Chest Specialist informed that,” Bronchoscopy is done to diagnose problems with the airway, lungs, or with the lymph nodes in the chest, or to treat problems such as an object or growth in the airway. A bronchoscopy can be used to diagnose lung disease, tumors, chronic cough and chest infections etc.” He added that the bronchoscope is also sometimes used as a treatment tool. For example, a bronchoscopy can allow doctor to deliver medication to lungs or remove an object (foreign object) caught in airways.
