OCHRI holds talk on “Yoga and its myths” by Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga Exponent Meera

Orange City Hospital & Research Institute; the family hospital of Central India advocates holistic medicine. To commemorate International Yoga day; OCHRI had organized a public talk on “Yoga and its myths” by Acclaimed Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga Exponent Meera.

Dr.Vidya Nair, Director (Operations) – Ravi Nair Hospitals Private Limited who herself practices Yoga and organized this undertaking stated that Yoga is not only exercise and asanas, it is a science and a way of living which connects our mind and body. As with any other form of physical practice, it is essential that foundations of yoga should be practiced carefully under the guidance of a qualified teacher to build a safe practice.

Yoga Exponent Meera strongly believes incorporating yoga philosophy with asana practice helps in holistic growth- Mental, Physical and emotional balance especially in today’s world. Gyms and other activities bring physical fitness but not mental peace. Yoga brings a balance of Mind-Body-Soul and Strength-Flexibility. She enlightened the audience with various types of Yoga.

Prominently present on this occasion were Dr.Usha Nair, Director- Ravi Nair Hospitals Private Limited, Dr.Anup Marar, Director- OCHRI, Dr.Devayani Buche, Senior Physician- OCHRI and Ms. Divya Nair.

The public talk of Yoga Gurvi Meera was held in Jaivik Sabhagruha, Ground floor, OCHRI. Dr.Noorul Ameen was Coordinator of this endeavor while Shri.Avinash Ganar, Smt.Saramma Samuel and Smt.Bharti Badwaik were the Conveners. Smt.Priya Sashi, Dr.Madhuri Likhitkar, Smt.Mansi Andhare, Dr.Kavita Dhurve, Smt.Sunita Patil, Shri.Santosh Mykalwar, Shri.Ganesh Iyer and Smt.Sangeeta Varma worked hard for the success of this mission.
