Healthcare workers face number of serious safety and health hazards. Workers have a right to a safe workplace. Orange City Hospital & Research Institute (OCHRI) values safety of its employees and patients.
As part of their workforce safety measures, OCHRI recently organized a free Hepatitis B vaccination program for the benefit of all in house medical team consisting of Intensivists, Casualty medical officers, Sr. Medical Officers and Medical officers serving at OCHRI. OCHRI boasts of robust full time team of specialists and medical officers who render round the clock care to incoming patients.
They are the back bone of OCHRIs goodwill. All eligible non-vaccinated medical staff of OCHRI were vaccinated with first dose of Hepatitis B vaccine.
On this occasion; Dr.Anup Marar, Director – OCHRI stated that “Every person may be at some risk for a hepatitis B infection during their lifetime, so getting the hepatitis B vaccine should be considered by all people. However some groups should definitely receive the hepatitis B vaccine. Healthcare givers who are at increased risk of contracting hepatitis B should be immunized. The hepatitis B vaccine is very effective at preventing infection with hepatitis B”. Hence OCHRI undertook this endeavor as a proactive gesture.
