MLA Bacchu Kadu visits OCHRI

Orange City Hospital & Research Institute serves most of the critical patients coming from all over Central India.

Recently Shri. Omprakash Babarao Kadu alias Bacchu Kadu, MLA made a courtesy visit to OCHRI and commended that OCHRI has gained distinct goodwill amongst doctors and citizens wherein most of the complicated cases from all over Vidarbha and MP are referred here for solace. He has been personally redirecting many critical patients from Amaravati division and conveyed his appreciation for the timely professional service with a caring outlook prevailing at OCHRI.

At the outset, Dr. Anup Marar, OCHRI Director welcomed him in presence of Dr. Rajesh Atal, Senior Critical Care Physician-OCHRI who highlighted the varieties of patients being attended at OCHRI CCU which is the largest CCU Complex as on date in Nagpur private health care sector. Shri.Bachu Kadu discussed about the prevalence of Dengue and Swine flu in Vidarbha. Shri. Ravindra Vaidya accompanied the dignitary.

Dr.Bindu’s OCHRI awareness lecture for CISF personnel

Orange City Hospital & Research Institute has a robust occupational health division wherein onsite check-up camps and awareness lectures are organised by experts in various welfare centric Organizations, companies and Industries. OCHRI is empanelled by more than 60 companies for the health care of their beneficiaries.

Recently a lecture on cancer prevention in women was held at Nagpur Airport CISF campus by Dr.Bindu Marar, OCHRI Gynecologist. The lecture was followed by an interactive session and gynecological consultation camp. At the outset Dr.Bindu was given a floral welcome by Smt.Himani Joshi, W/o Nagpur CISF Deputy Commandant in presence of Smt.Vincent.

Dr. Bindu Marar highlighted that since the Pap test was first introduced in the 1940’s when cervical cancer was the leading cause of death among women, it has become a preventable cancer as a result of the discovery that the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the cause of almost all cases of cervical cancer. She added that women between the age of 21 to 29 should be screened with the Pap test alone every three years while for women over 30 years of age and over, the preferred approach is the Pap test plus HPV testing every five years.

Program was conducted by Inspector Geeta Singh while Inspector Sachin Gayakwad coordinated the whole undertaking. Dr. Shruti Kukde, Sr. Papita Kokota & Shri.Anil Dhakate worked hard for the success of this social venture. All CISF lady personnel and lady family members partook in this onsite Gynecological consultation and awareness lecture. It is highlighted that OCHRI reinvests its profits back to society through its various altruistic arms.


Orange City Hospital & Research Institute conducts on site annual check-ups in various welfare centric companies, industries and Organisations. OCHRI has an occupational health division which provides onsite feasible executive health check-up facility to promote preventive health.

Recently they conducted on site health check of all personnel of Central Industrial Security Force(CISF) which provides security to Nagpur Airport. CISF authorities were in a dilemma as annual check is mandatory but the personnel could not be relieved to proceed towards a hospital. When they came to know that OCHRI provided on site health check-up services by qualified Physician, this camp was successfully commenced. MIHAN India has also empanelled OCHRI for the indoor care of CISF employees. Dr. Upendra Kumar, MD(Medicine), OCHRI Physician undertook the annual check-ups screening of all CISF employees in Nagpur airport in a 2 day camp.

Highlighting this endeavour, Shri. Sunil Sure, General Manager(Administration) & Incharge of Industrial Health Check-up Division-OCHRI stated that employee health screening is a term used to describe a range of checks and tests that help identify risks to health and improve wellbeing among staff. They have the potential to benefit both employees and the organisations they work for.

Dr. Upendra Kumar, MD(Medicine) mentioned that because of the changing lifestyle, it has become important to adopt preventive healthcare measures and to go for regular health check-ups. It is known that there is 10% reduction in loss of working days which directly improves productivity.

Shri.Alok Joshi, Deputy Commandant, CISF, Nagpur Airport stated that employee health checks offer a variety of benefits like Individual benefits include Access to health information, Reduced health risks., Improved performance and Better mental health. Furthermore, Health screening demonstrates that employers care about their staff and are dedicated to helping them stay healthy.

7 New Specialists join OCHRI

Orange City Hospital & Research Institute is largest private hospital of Nagpur as on date which boasts of attachment of more than 150 doctors catering to needy central Indians through 60 varied departments. Recently 7 new specialists have joined OCHRI to render their expertise for benefit of incoming needy patients.

Dr. Pankaj Raut, MBBS, MD (Medicine), DM (Cardiology)

Dr. Pankaj Raut has joined as a Cardiologist. He has done MD (Medicine) from LTMMC, Mumbai and DM (Cardiology) from Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. He is trained in evaluation and management of various acute & chronic cardiac diseases including 2D Echo, TMT, TEE. He has experience in Interventional procedures like, Angioplasty, Balloon mitral & Pulmonary valvuloplasty, Permanent pacemaker implantation and device closure of congenital heart defect. Dr. Pankaj Raut is available daily from 10am to 2pm in OCHRI OPD on all working days apart from 24×7 emergency calls.

Dr. Jyoti P Phabyani, MBBS, DVD, DNB (Dermatology)

Dr. Jyoti Phabyani has joined as a Skin Specialist. She has done MBBS from NKPSIMS, Nagpur, DVD from MUHS, Nashik and DNB Dermatology from Care Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. She has exposure in treatment of all kind of Skin, Hair & Nail Disorders like Psoriasis, Eczema, Vitiligo, Leukoderma, Urticaria, Skin Allergy, Leprosy, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Skin diseases. She will provide her expert services in OCHRI OPD from 11am to 1pm on all working days.

Dr. Richa Kedar, MBBS, DNB (Ophthalmology)

Dr. Richa Kedar has joined as an Eye Specialist. She has done MBBS from GMC, Nagpur rand DNB (Ophthalmology) from LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. She is well trained in handling all types of Ophthalmological routine as well as emergencies and varied surgeries. She has experienced in Small Incision cataract Surgery, Phacoemulsification, squint, congenital Ptosis, congenital cataracts and retinoblastoma. She will be available in OCHRI OPD on all working days from 5-8pm.

Dr. Kundan Wadhai, MBBS, MD, DM (Nephrology)

Dr. Kundan Wadhai has joined as a Nephrologist. He has completed his post-graduation from PDU Medical College, Rajkot and super specialization DM in Nephrology from B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad. He has experienced in treatment for the entire spectrum of Kidney diseases like Acute & Chronic kidney failure, Nephritis, Acid base imbalance, kidney infection, Renal vascular disease, Renal Transplantation and Pediatric Nephrology. He has published many papers in National Journals. He will render his expertise in OCHRI OPD from 9am – 11am from Mondays to Fridays.

Dr. Aditya Kekatpure, MBBS, D Ortho, DNB (Orthopedics), MNAMS

Dr. Aditya Kekatpure has joined as an Orthopedician. He has completed Diploma in Orthopedics from Chennai and DNB (Orthopedic) from Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. He has exposure in Polytrauma management, Spine & Joint replacement surgeries. Dr. Aditya Kekatpure has published several papers at international & national level. He will provide his expert services in OCHRI OPD from 3-6pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday.

Dr. Aditya Kumar Singh, MBBS, MS, MCh (Urology)

Dr. Aditya Kumar Singh has joined as a Urologist. He has completed MS from MGM Medical College, Indore and MCh in Urology from IMS, BHU, Varanasi. He has exposure in management of routine as well as chronic urological problems and onco –uro surgeries. He is available in OCHRI OPD from 3pm to 5pm on all working days.

Dr. P.C. Gupta, MBBS, MS (ENT)

Dr. P.C. Gupta has joined as an ENT Surgeon. He has completed MBBS and MS (ENT) from Bhopal University. He retired from WCL as Specialist and has vast experience in management of acute & chronic ENT diseases. He will provide his expert services in OCHRI ENT OPD from 10 am to 3pm on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.

Dehadrey family to supply free homely food for OCHRI patient’s relatives

Orange City Hospital & Research Institute caters to varied sections of needy central Indians who reach here for their health care requirements. Many relatives are unable to afford food or have food on time due to many reasons.

The need to provide simple homely food for relatives of patients was felt by sister of Mr. Niranjan Kulkarni who is now recouping well after taking regular treatment in OCHRI Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Section. His sister Smt.Meenal Dehadrey who accompanied her brother daily to OCHRI saw the problems faced by relatives of patients in various hospitals.

Appreciating the caring service at OCHRI and understanding the need of relatives she interacted with her family and approached Shri. Udaybhaskar Nair, Chairman- Nairsons Group with a proposal to provide free food service to genuine needy relatives of patients who are admitted at OCHRI. This lunch/ dinner box will have 3 rotis, Dal, Rice and Sabji. This will be provided in steel containers which have to returned back by relatives after washing to PRO office.

Announcing this undertaking, Dr. Vidya Nair, Director (Operations)-Ravi Nair Hospitals Private Limited(RNHPL) thanked Kulkarni and Dehadrey families led by Smt.Meenal Dehadrey for this altruistic long term commitment. Initially 30 lunches and 30 dinner boxes will be provided w.e.f.15th September. Subsequently looking into the quantum, Smt.Meenal Dehadrey and her family will contemplate on enhancing the supply, she added. Homely food will be provided by Dehadrey family.

Dr. Usha Nair, Director (Medical)- RNHPL stated that genuine needy relatives will be provided reusable food tokens by Public relations executives during their regular daily morning and evening rounds in all wards which they will have to submit in the Dehadrey Aahar counter that will function in ground floor near OCHRI Casualty from 12 noon to 1pm and 8-9 PM on all days under Shri.Ganesh Iyer. The record of beneficiaries will be maintained.

Dr. Anup Marar, Director- OCHRI commended this goodness existing in society and being upheld by Dehadrey Parivaar. He quoted that different Sadhanas are prescribed in our scriptures for different ages. Tapa (penance) is recommended for Krita age, Gyan (knowledge) for Treta age, Yagnya (sacrifice) for Dwapara age and Daan (Charity) for Kali (present) age. Of all the charities, giving food is the best one. Anna-daan is the best of all merits.

Smt.Priya Sashi and her team of round the clock stationed OCHRI Public Relations executives will manage the venture on behalf of Dehadrey family.
